Combination Brows

A combination of soft shading and crisp hairstrokes usually placed at the front of the brow. Great for those that lack hair at the beginning of the brow or prefer a ‘fluffy’ brow style.

Ombré Brows

A soft-shaded brow that gradually transitions from light to dark, creating a powdery, makeup-like finish. Ideal for a polished yet natural look.

Brow Correction / Cover-Up

Ombré or Combination coverup of old PMU not done at High Brow Society. Price inclusive of 4-8 week touch up.

Lip Blush

Full colour over the lips, designed to heel to a sheer ‘tint effect’ rather than a solid ‘lipstick effect’. Optional Ombré Lip with a lighter shade in the centre of the lips/soft liner effect around the contour.

Lash Line Enhancement

A subtle tattoo along the lash line that adds definition and makes lashes appear fuller—perfect for a natural, eye-opening effect without the look of eyeliner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup, also known as Cosmetic Tattooing, PMU, or SPMU, is a technique where pigment is carefully implanted into the upper layers of the skin to replicate the look of natural hair, tint, or makeup. Unlike traditional tattoos, the pigment sits closer to the surface and is designed to fade gradually over time, requiring occasional touch-ups. It’s a safe, effective way to enhance your features with long-lasting, low-maintenance results.

What will happen at my PMU appointment?

At your appointment, we’ll begin with a consent form and detailed consultation to discuss your desired shape, colour, and style, answering any questions you may have. Once we agree on the look, your brows or lips will be carefully mapped out, with time for adjustments before we begin. Numbing will be applied throughout to keep you comfortable. After your treatment, you’ll receive aftercare cream and a full guide via email. Please allow up to 3 hours for your first session.

Is everyone suitable for Permanent Makeup?

While the machine technique of PMU is suitable for all skin types, there are a few contraindications for all permanent makeup:
- Pregnant/ Breastfeeding
- Under 18’s
-Any skin conditions in the treatment area
-Any serious health conditions must be discussed with a doctor first
- Currently or recently undergone Chemo/ Radiotherapy
- Taking medication included but not limited to ACCUTANE, BLOOD THINNERS, ANTIBIOTICS
If you are unsure about any conditions that are not listed, please get in touch to discuss before booking.

Is Micropigmentation the same as Microblading?

Modern Permanent Makeup uses a machine with a tiny needle that gently implants pigment by perforating the skin, making it far less invasive than microblading, which uses a blade to cut the skin. While microblading can give nice initial results, it’s more likely to cause scarring, early fading, and colour changes over time. Machine methods are more advanced, safer for a wider range of skin types, deliver longer-lasting results, and when performed correctly, won’t damage the skin.

How Long Does Each Procedure Take?

The duration of each semi-permanent makeup procedure can vary. Typically, the initial session lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes consultation, colour selection, and the application process. Touch-up sessions, which are usually done a few weeks after the initial application, may take less time. We recommend allocating sufficient time for your appointment to ensure the best possible results.

Is Semi-Permanent Makeup Painful?

The level of discomfort experienced during semi-permanent makeup procedures varies from person to person. Most clients report minimal discomfort. We apply a topical anaesthetic before the procedure to numb the area, which helps in reducing pain. It's important to communicate with your technician throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort.

How Long Does Semi-Permanent Makeup Last?

Semi-permanent makeup typically lasts between 1 to 3 years. The longevity depends on several factors, including skin type, exposure to sun, and skincare routines. Regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain the colour and shape. Over time, the pigment will fade, necessitating a refresh session.

Will I Need Touch-Ups?

Yes, touch-ups are often recommended, especially after the initial healing period (typically 6-8 weeks). The touch-up procedure ensures that the results are perfect and can help make the color more vibrant and lasting.

Are the Pigments Safe for My Skin?

Semi-permanent makeup is suitable for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, if you have a history of skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or keloid scarring, it’s best to consult with Megan before booking to ensure the procedure is safe for you.

What can I expect after my Permanent Makeup procedure?

For eyebrows you can expect a total healing time of anywhere from 7-14 days, and for lips 4-5 days. Your PMU will initially appear much darker/ brighter/ more artificial looking when it’s fresh, after the initial period you can expect some light scabbing which will dry out and naturally flake off.

Once the scabs have lifted the skin will take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to go through full cell turnover when you will see the true results. PMU must be kept as DRY & CLEAN as possible during healing to avoid infection.

You will be given aftercare cream and in-depth instructions on how to care for your brows/lips at your appointment.
